More about Abramo Papp
Biography
Abramo Papp was born in 1951 in Genoa, Italy. Abramo showed early
promise as an artist while still at school, winning commendations at the
Queensland RNA Exhibitions in 1966 and receiving a commission to paint
the Brisbane Ship-Inn Hotel from a sepia photograph taken in the 1893
floods. However on leaving school, Abramo ended up practising
architecture for most his life until 2006 when he re-ignited his
lifelong interest in painting and art. Abramo's art includes portraits
in pastels and oils, water-scapes and landscapes in acrylic and oils,
life drawing and sculpture. From November 2009, Abramo retired from
architecture and moved to a semi-retired lifestyle on Russell Island in
Moreton Bay where he continues to work on his art. Of recent years, he
has been receiving regular recognition in local art prizes. In July 2013
he graduated with a Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapist and based
his practice on Russell Island. He uses the creative art making process
to help clients through their life challenges.
